The guests and the hotel of Queen Victoria

Throughout the past twenty years, thousands of tourists flocked to the French Riviera as Queen Victoria often visited this area for pleasure. The reason why she stopped coming was because France and Britain stopped seeing eye to eye. She often visited Menton in 1882, Cannes in 1887 and Hyeres in 1892, and Nice on many occasions (two times to large hotels in the city and three times to the infamous Hoel Regina from 1895 until 1899).
